Kay Gavin - Dance Instructor

Kay, from Falkirk is a highly successful, award winning professional dancer, model and choreographer. Her outstanding talent was recognised when she was awarded a 5 year scholarship with The Scottish Ballet when she was only 11 years old.
Qualifying with distinction in all her ballet exams including RAD and ISTDA she went on to be Scotland’s Senior Ballet Champion aged just 16. In that same year she entered and won a prestigious British Choreography Competition, despite being the youngest competitor. She was subsequently awarded the first professional dancing contract of her lengthy career.
Kay has been in constant demand working constantly all over the UK and abroad both in theatre and on television for some of the biggest names in dance including Antony Johns and Dougie Squires’ Second Generation Dancers, Trends of London.
Her extensive and very impressive portfolio of work which is too large to list here includes Royal Variety Shows, numerous summer seasons, TV Commercials, shows for the STV, BBC and Grampian Television and many pantomimes at the Kings Theatre Glasgow.
She lists one personal highlight as dancing for the Queen and the whole Royal Family at Earls Court, London during the Queens Jubilee celebrations. Kay has also danced at the famous Palm Beach Casino in Cannes during the Film Festival. Kay has worked with a galaxy of stars from all over the world including David Hasslehoff (on German television), Bruce Forsyth, Sir Cliff Richard, Rikki Fulleton and Jack Mulroy (Francie and Josie), Billy Connolly and many others.
Kay’s modelling work includes shows for Armani, Dolce and Gabbana, Versace and other fashion houses.
Choreography credits include numerous fashion and trade events all over the UK. Kay was honoured at a Civic Reception by Falkirk Council in 1993 where she was presented with a special award in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the field of dance.
She continues to display her love of dance and expertise, passing on her wealth of knowledge in teaching all types of dance and choreographing at Stageworx.
