Gino who
was born in Malta entered the music industry at the age of 16. Gino has over
40 years of professional experience. He is an associate of the Royal School
of Music and the Trinity Guildhall College, London.
He trained extensively for 6 years on Jazz Improvisation under the highly skilled
supervision of Jamie Abersold and further 5 years with Patty Cocker on music
ear training.
He continues to work in the professional field with top bands and musicians:
Euan Vernon - Deacon Blue, Craig Kane - Hue & Cry and Graham Duffin – Wet,
Wet, Wet.
Gino continually strives for perfection with great musician Bobby Wishart who
has been the Jazz Youth Officer for 20 years. He also teaches at the Scottish
Jazz Youth Orchestra and works at Jordan Hill College, Glasgow teaching Jazz
Improvisation.
His love for Jazz, Pop and Latino, which he plays with his brother the outstanding
musician and drummer Sandro Ciancio, makes him one of Scotland’s highly
prolific musicians.
Gino has been teaching at Stageworx for 6 years and brings to the school both
practical and academic experiences.
